Setting Up Your Order Milestone Rewards

Repeat customers are the lifeblood of any successful Shopify store. With Discountify’s Number of Order rule, you can create a completely automated loyalty roadmap that rewards your customers for every step of their journey with your brand.

Here is how to configure your first order-based milestones.

Step 1: Create the Number of Order Rule


Navigate to the Number of Order box in your Discountify dashboard. Click Manage Discount Rule, then navigate to Create from the tabs. This tells the app to specifically check the total history of successful orders for each customer.

Step 2: Set the Milestone Logic


Every brand has different goals for customer frequency. We provide three comparison options to help you target the right moments:

  • More than: Perfect for high-frequency VIPs (e.g., "Customer has placed More than 10 orders").
  • Equal to: Ideal for specific birthday or anniversary-style milestones (e.g., "This is their Exactly 5th Order").
  • Less than: Useful for early-stage "nudges" to encourage that crucial second purchase (e.g., "Customer has Less than 2 orders").

Step 3: Choose the Reward Value


What is the "prize" for reaching the next level?

  • Percentage Discount: (e.g., 20% off) Drives powerful excitement for milestone orders.
  • Fixed Amount: (e.g., $10 off) Feels like a tangible "Gift Credit" the customer has earned through their loyalty.

Step 4: Real-Time Reward Delivery


The Number of Order rule is a real-time system triggered directly by customer action. There is no background sync to wait for - the reward is prepared the moment a sale is finalized:

  1. The customer completes a purchase on your store.
  2. Discountify instantly updates their order count in the database.
  3. If the new count matches your rule, a unique code is generated and a personalized email is sent immediately.

Step 5: The "Special Discount" Experience


When your returning customer comes back to the store to use their milestone reward, Discountify ensures it stays top-of-mind. As they browse your product pages, they will see a dedicated block:

Step 6: Designing Your Milestone Roadmap


For the best results, create a tiered journey that keeps customers engaged over the long term:

  • Bronze (2nd Order): A "Welcome Back" 10% off.
  • Silver (5th Order): A "Loyal Staple" $15 gift credit.
  • Gold (10th Order): An "Ultimate Fan" 25% discount.
